Final Four Preview

Virginia vs. Auburn

This game should be a very interesting game. I think that the two teams are polar opposites. Virginia is a slow moving, get a good shot every time down the court type of team. Auburn on the other hand, pulls up for threes in transition more than any team in the country. I think they are two really good teams. It’s definitely a hard game to predict. One of these teams is going to have to adjust to fit the other’s scheme. I believe that teams that live and die by three tend to die at one point during the tourney. But, the Auburn Tigers did die from behind the line last game shooting only 7-23 from the three point line and still won in OT against Kentucky. So, if they’ve already died from behind the line, what are we in for this game.

Key Player on Auburn: Bryce Brown, the one that kept the Tigers in the Kentucky game with his three ball.

Key Player on Virginia: Ty Jerome, the man at point who needs to stay out of foul trouble to guard their star guards.

Prediction: Virginia Cavaliers 77, Auburn Tigers 67

Future Headline: Kyle Guy carries Virginia late with 4 threes in last 3 minutes.

Michigan State Vs. Texas Tech

The Michigan State Spartans look to be on an unstoppable roll going into this game and haven’t lost since March 2nd. Texas Tech have been on one too. The two teams also have two big name studs on their teams. Michigan State has All-American Cassius Winston, who has been arguably the best point guard in the country. Texas Tech has Jarrett Culver, who is definitely the best player coming out of the Big 12 this season. But, I would say, the team that wins has to have great play from their surrounding players. Xavier Tillman, Matt McQuaid, and Aaron Henry have been playing out of their minds in at least one crucial game this season. I think “Big Shot” Kenny Goins will be a player to watch out for this game. I think he is due for one of those games where he hits 6 threes. I’m kind of a big Michigan State fan, FYI.

Key Player on Texas Tech: Tariq Owens, he needs to make sure Nick Ward and Tillman do not get going down low if they want a chance to win the game.

Key Player on Michigan State: Matt McQuaid, him and Henry will most likely be given the duties of guarding Culver, I think the senior will be up for the challenge.

Prediction: Michigan State 72, Texas Tech 58

Future Headline: Cassius Winston finishes with 27 points and 8 assists to carry the Spartans to an easy victory for MSU.
